2012 5k for 5charities

The 5th Judicial District Crime Victims Rights Week Ceremony took place Wednesday, April 13th at the Fort Des Moines Victim Memorial Garden.  Beautiful weather welcomed our special guests and attendees.  Thanks to our ceremony host, News Channel 8 Anchor Kevin Cooney.  Attendees were treated to songs from Haley Seibert and Emma Negrete, both high school students in Des Moines.  Jennifer Eaton-Bertagnolli, founder of The Ken Eaton Foundation, and Adriana Flores, Executive Director of L.U.N.A, were our special guest speakers.  5th Judicial District Director Sally Kreamer provided opening and closing words to the large crowd.  The ceremony ended with bagpipes playing "Amazing Grace" while balloons were released in honor of Mary Kay Stroud, victims, and survivors.  Thank you to all who attended, and to the CVRW/5k committee who organized and planned the memorable ceremony.
